LAST RESORT
CAMPGROUND
Jackman, Maine
The Last Resort Campground was founded in 1902 as a hunting lodge that offered retreat vacations and a place for hunters and trail goers to stay and eat at. As time went on, the previous owners saw the opportunity to collect snowmobile traffic from Long Lake, the lake on which the property is situated, and morphed it into a hybrid bed and breakfast for snowmobilers in the winter and hunting trips
in the remaining seasons.
THE CHALLENGE
The Last Resort Campground, with significant potential, had aged over the years. The goal was to refurbish the lodge, balancing its rustic elements with modern upgrades, all while working within a set budget and timeline.
THE RESULTS
Property Transformation Highlights: Conversion into a family-oriented campground featuring multiple cabins for accommodation, Comprehensive renovation of the main dining lodge, modernizing and expanding the interior space, Complete overhaul of the family-specific bunkhouse to enhance its functionality and aesthetics.
Guest Accommodations Upgrades: Revamped four additional bunkhouses to maintain a rustic ambiance while improving amenities.
Resulting Ambiance: The property has been transformed into a warm and inviting retreat, offering a comfortable environment for both families and guests to enjoy.
